Composer
Who creates original music for the soundtrack

The Composer writes original music for the film's soundtrack.
They work closely with the Director to find a tone that matches the film.
In an ideal scenario, the Composer would have a brief during preproduction, so they can start writing. The Composer should supply versions of the music to the Director for input. Once the film has hit Picture Lock, a low-res version of the film is provided to the Composer, so they can write bespoke music that matches the film to the frame.
Once the music is ready, it is exported and sent to the Sound Designer to mix with the rest of the audio. The final audio mx then goes to the Editor for the final export.
The Composer can either create the audio themselves with their sound libraries or MIDI, and/or record musicians (or themselves) to bring in live music. Note any musicians that the composer records for the soundtrack will need to sign a release form, so liaise with the Producer to sort.
